Legendary player AB de Villiers of South Africa and the Royal Challengers Bangalore has shared his thoughts on the change.
“It appears that he is returning to Mumbai; I am not sure what transpired there. They’ll probably have to pay a little for it. We all know that Rohit, as the captain, enjoys taking the lead. AB de Villiers, a close friend of Virat Kohli, posted on his YouTube channel, “Will he step down and let Hardik lead, because he has got the big weight of Team India and captaining there.”
It seems to me that Rohit would hand over the captaincy and let Hardik take charge. Being Team India’s captain also puts a lot of pressure on Rohit. Perhaps that will be the next step.”

After winning the IPL as captain of the Gujarat Titans, AB de Villiers went on to say that Hardik Pandya might be looking for a new challenge.
For Mumbai Indians, this is huge news. For many years, Hardik was a major player for Mumbai. He cherished his performances at Wankhede Stadium. In addition to going to the final (following season), he won the trophy with GT. He most likely feels that his time there is over.”
